This beautiful solid Alenquer female chose a handsome striped and specked Alenquer male as her mate. (I thought she was a Rose Red, but the pattern on her head convinced me otherwise.) They spawned in the community tank, and their first spawn in the breeding tank was very fertile. Unfortunately they ate the wigglers, as most young discus pairs are apt to do. But they are very young and have plenty of time to learn the ropes. She is beautiful dark red brown with a gorgeous halo. He is an amazing Alenquer with lots of blue iridescent patterns on head and fins. Please look at the pictures to fully appreciate this wonderful pair.
